Big deal. The same places gave Gheylo 2 almost the exact same reviews
and ratings. And Gheylo2 had to be one of the worst FPS games ever.
All these ratings prove is how susceptible so-called game reviewers
are to pay-offs and bribes from Micro$hit. It is almost surreal that
this scenario is playing itself out just like it did in 2001 and 2004
and now 2007. The xflop is one fricking bizarre event in console video
game history, essentially being a one-game box for almost 7 years. And
there is this small idiot group that has grown old playing that one
game over and over, with the same redundant repeating level maps, over
and over and over. And just like before, there will be a blip in xflop
hardware sales for a month or so, then the sales will flatten and go
stagnant in the third year due to lack of games while the Playstation
powerhouses come to market. For example, Haze is just so much better
graphically and technologically superior to Gheylo. At least this is
the end of this idiotic Gheylo generation.

Gheylo 2 game ratings 95%

97 Metacritic, Bliggy. GameRankings gets reviews from the scrub,
second tier sites.

For comparison, only Half-Life 2 has a higher metacritic (98).

Wow Blig Merk is right on something, Haze.

You watch the reviews Haze gets, even though it is graphically better and
the game play looks awesome, it will score lower than Halo3. If that
happens, I will never look at a game review again because they will be
bullshit.

Well, after watching the the HD example of Haze for the PS3 (over 6 minutes
long) on IGN, I say it does look really nice. I did notice there wasn't very
much in the way of physics in that example, and some slight stuttering
(framerate issues) in certain hectic scenes (noticable at the end where the
helicopter comes in). I won't compare anything to Halo, as Halo is Halo.
Halo has alway had great textures and enviroments, but not in the way of
being realistic looking in the sense as a typical war game, etc. I'll see H3
when it comes out to see how it stands up to its predecessors. But if it has
realistic scenes, then I'll comment further.

Personally, the best graphical game I've played is GRAW (either one) and
COD3 really looked great (though the gameplay was linear as fuck and
frustrating on the hardest setting). I'd say GRAW looks as good as Haze only
with better explosions and physics just going by that example of Haze I just
saw. I cannot wait for COD4, and I wonder how Haze will look on the 360.

Anyway, if Haze plays like the video example and the stuff you can do and
the weapons as seen in that example, that would easily be a 9+. Weapons and
gameplay make a great game and you need weapons, though I am admittedly a
graphics whore (to an extent).

Yes Lair is a rubbish game, but it that all fanboys can bring up?

I've played both Halo 3 and got a copy of Haze beta. Even in beta form Haze
blows away Halo 3, as in graphics, weapons and game play

Lair looked real nice, but played like fuck in the video reviews of ACTUAL
gameplay. Haze didn't look like it played bad, but rather sweet in the video
I saw. So your point is?

My point is why not wait until it's actually OUT and REVIEWED before
you start declaring it Game of the Year?

Rights. Because if Haze doesn't do better in ratings then Halo 3 it's
proof of a gigantic industry wide conspircy to destroy Sony. Here's an
idea - if Haze doesn't do that well in the ratings it'll likely be that
it's because it's simply not that good a game. Conversely if it does
well propbably a darn good game.

I'll admit you make a good point here, but games are subjective to
individual tastes. But that being said, you would think that even the good
games on the PS3 would be selling well, and they aren't. In the US, RFOM is
the only PS3 game to sell over 500K, and only two have sold over a million
worldwide (RFOM and Motorstorm).

The difficulty the PS3 is having is that it hasn't hit sufficient
numbers to move huge number of games. With a sold base of just over 4.5
million it's just not possible to have a game that moves multiple
millions of units. A game like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas which was
obviously popular sold about 12 million copies
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best_selling_computer_and_video_ga
mes#PlayStation_2) at a time when the worldwide sale base of the PS2 was
over 100 million. Even if one of 8 PS3 owners bought a particular game
(which would be a high ratio - MGS3 looks like it was bought by about 1
in 20 PS2 owners) you would 'only' sell around 600,000 games. As many
have said the biggest problem for the PS3 is it needs to sell more
systems, and to sell more systems it needs more (and better) games.

What I was saying is that since there aren't many games for the PS3, you'd
think current owners would just buy what is available, that says a great
deal. Even then, isn't it telling that no game on the PS3 sold more than a
milllion in the US after over 10 months in the market.

By the way, when the 360 hit its 10nth month, it had 4 games over the
million mark in the US alone. According to stats, the 360 and PS3 were at
even sales in their repsective timeframes.

Halo , Halo 2 and Halo 3 were hits not only because of graphics and
gameplay but storyline. The first Halo game was intense. it started
just like the beginning of star wars (a new hope) back in 77' ship
being attacked and leaving ship with classified info. For for those
not old enough to remember. anyway it rocked. then you go down to
planets surface.
Halo 2 was different with a first look at the enemies side of the
war. at first I hated it but found it interesting. And the last in the
trilogy without giving away spoilers really does end the fight and
does not leave any loose ends. Halo 3 is more Adult oriented with more
cursing here and there and a more emotional story. its a great
ending to a great game trilogy.
